What is Chèvre?
Chèvre (goat leather), traditionally called Morocco leather, is known for its softness, light weight and strength. It is one of the most resilient leathers, the structure of the leather gives the hide a distinctive tight grainy texture with ridges, resembling to pebbles. The natural properties of the goat leather mean that it is water resistant, very supple and soft. This leather hails from a small French town of Mazamet, in the south west.
What is Pig Suede?
Pig suede has a silky touch and is instantly recognisable thanks to the little dots caused by the animal's follicles. Pig skin is naturally thin and supple but this is enhanced further by several mechanical processes to massage and soften up the leather, once the skins have been chrome tanned and dyed through.
Suede is in fact the flesh side of the skin, which has been finely trimmed and brushed. It is a beautiful leather for lining fine leather accessories and bags.
